RACE RULES

GALLSTAR BRACKET RACES

  • All races are 1/8 mile format

  • Double entries are permitted

    • no car or driver may go down the racetrack more than twice per round​

    • Double entries will be called to the lanes before single entries

    • double entries will be allowed 10 minutes turn around run to run 

  • re-entry round winners advance to round two​

  • Main event race structure

    • there are THREE sides of the field (DRAGSTER, box DOOR CAR, and no-box)​

    • DRAGSTERS AND BOX DOOR CARS WILL RUN SEPARATELY WITH THIER OWN BYE UNTIL THE LADDER ROUND. 

    • NO BOX WILL RUN SEPARATELY WITH THIER OWN BYE UNTIL ONE REMAINS. 

    • entries will be placed on a ladder based on r/t at 16 cars or less, re-laddered each round, best r/t gets lane choice

      • R/T TIES ARE BROKEN FIRSTLY BY BEST PACKAGE, SECONDLY BY EARLIER OCCURRENCE​

  • Shootout race Structure

    • All entries will run together (no separation of Door Cars and Dragsters)​

    • Entries will be placed on a ladder basted on R/T at 8 cars or less, re-laddered each round, best r/t gets lane choice

      • R/T TIES ARE BROKEN FIRSTLY BY BEST PACKAGE, SECONDLY BY EARLIER OCCURRENCE​

  • Tree

    • ​cross-talk

      • cross-talk will be on for the box class​

      • cross-talk will be off for the no-box class

    • autostart​

      • autostart will be used for all classes​

      • tree settings

        • stage on = 0.6 sec​

        • stage to start = 1.0 sec

        • time out = 10.0 sec

    • Trustart​​

      • trustart (i.e. "worst red") will be in effect, awarding the win to the worst of two red lights, rather than the first red light. â€‹â€‹

  • ​Bye Runs

    • Potential bye runs are random draw for first found

    • all other rounds potential bye runs are determined by the best winning r/t of the previous run

      • ties are broken firstly by best package, secondly by earlier occurrence​

    • no-box has their own separate bye​ UNTIL ONLY ONE REMAINS

    • box door cars and dragsters HAVE THIER OWN SEPARATE BYES UNTIL THE LADDER ROUND

    • A driver is not eligible for a second bye run unless all remaining competitors have already had one

    • Potential bye runs carry over to the next round if not used, BUT THEY DO NOT CARRY ONTO THE LADDER

  • lane choice​

    • a driver may not switch lanes after entering the staging lanes​

    • after the lanes run out of even left/right pairs, the remaining cars will be paired front to back, with the front car receiving lane choice

    • late arrivals to the lanes must go to the tail end of the single file line

    • in the event of even pairings, lane choice goes to the potential bye cAR

  • dials and staging​

    • during eliminations, dials must be displayed prior to crossing the ready-line exiting the staging lanes​
    • A DRIVER WHO HAS PRE-STAGED HAS ACCEPTED THE DIAL POSTED ON THE track SCOREBOARDS
    • deep-staging
      • deep-staging is allowed but not guaranteed​
      • drivers wishing to deep-stage are required to display the word "deep' legibly both next to their dial-in and visible from the front of the vehicle 
    • courtesy staging
      • courtesy staging is highly encouraged but will not be enforced on an every pair basis​
      • drivers will not be backed out of the beams for failure to courtesy stage
      • repeat offenders intentionally failing to courtesy stage are subject to disqualification per race director discretion
  • excessive braking
    • one warning will be given for sliding tires or tire smoke at the finish line
    • a second offense will result in disqualification from the race 
  • Staging Lanes

    • Competitors will be called to the lanes in the following order​

      • no-box double entries​ (1st Hit)

      • no-box Single entries

      • No-Box Double Entries (2nd hit)

      • box door car double entries (1st Hit)

      • Box Door Car Single Entries

      • Box Door Car Double Entries (2nd HIT)

      • dragster double entries (1st hit)

      • Dragster single entries

      • dragster double entries (2nd hit)

  • break-downs​

    • in the event a driver's vehicle has mechanical failure, the driver is allowed one courtesy vehicle change per race (with race director approval)​

    • the vehicle a driver is changing to can no longer be in competition

    • vehicle start-up rules:

      • 2 minutes prior to burnout box​

      • 30 seconds in or after burnout box​

  • no-box class

    • delay boxes must be removed from vehicles competing in the no-box side of the field​

    • two-steps and air/electric shifters are allowed on no-box vehicles

    • no-box vehicles are eligible to compete on the box side of the field

    • the no-box winner (last remaining no-box car) advances to join the box side of the field. At that time, the no-box competitor will have the option to run a delay box against the other delay box competitors. 

  • motorcycles

    • motorcycles are eligible to compete in gallstar bracket races​

    • no-box motorcycles can race on the no-box side of the field

    • box motorcycles must race on the box side of the field and will be called to the lanes with box door cars

  • Electric Vehicles​

    • Electric Vehicles are prohibited from competition in gallstar bracket races​

  • tech inspection​

    • tech inspection is handled by the host track of the event​

    • stutter boxes, slew rate controllers, or other similar devices are prohibited

    • engine diapers are highly recommended and encouraged

    • throttle stops are permitted

  • payouts​

    • payouts are guaranteed​

    • in the event that weather shortens an event, remaining payouts will be split among winners of the last completed round​

  • PAYMENTS

    • Cash, check, and credit cards are accepted. cREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WILL include AN ADDITIONAL 3% CHARGE​

  • all rules, regulations, and scheduling are subject to change at the discretion of gallstar bracket races​
